Graveyard Talk

What I presumed to be a casual meeting with a friend turned out to be, perhaps, my most memorable day of 2009 so far. And it all happened in a cemetary. Having been very restless in my spirit lately, lonely and in need of renewed confidence, I needed encouragement from people and rest in the Lord. Then, along came the most unlikely person to bring joy into my day. Long story short, the genuine attention, excitement and hope that I saw in his eyes as I told him about my own spiritual challenges, blessings and pursuits within the last month is enough to take me a long way. Through this encounter I now know that in the future, whenever ugly and in doubt of my capacity to love or to exert good influence on someone else, I can always look back and remember the immense happiness I felt when speaking into this friend's life and he into mine. Moments like this you just know are God-given simply because they are so prompt, precise and powerful. He really knows what you need and when he delivers it at the right time, you'll know what hit you.
