I'm starting to publish more personal posts now...
I've only met two Estonians in my life. He is the first.

I seem to be exposed to many things "European" lately, and suddenly, I have this urge to travel around Europe. I've been hit a few times, but the excitement is always short-lived and three days at most. We'll see how long this one lasts for. In particular, I've been hearing many stories from Pei Jet about cultural differences between the French and Italians and gondola rides in Venice. She got me thinking a lot about Before Sunrise and Before Sunset, two of my favourite movies. The chemistry between Ethan Hawke and Julie Delpy is whoa--hard to believe the two didn't fall for each other while filming (or did they). On top of that, I have developed a close relationship with two exchange students over the semester--Anja from Berlin and Rene from Estonia--plus Wenke, a spunky German whom I met at the Laneway Festival earlier this year. My best friend from high school who now studies in California is also doing exchange with a university in Paris. A couple days ago, I found myself browsing through Lonely Planet guides at Borders about Scandinavian Europe, Greece and Spain in particular. Suddenly, I want to pick up Spanish again--practically grew up learning the language in school, and it's so disappointing that I'm going nowhere with it at the moment. Is this a sign? I'd like to think so, which is why I'm booking myself in for more 5-9pm shifts at work. Show me the money!
